The Things We Won’t Say About Race That Are True

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

they love to sit around on the floor eating an drinking without their shoes on,
laughing and having a good time in general
for some strange reason ( at least to me) they love to listen to each other sing badly & off key in crowded rooms
as thai's, they will spend every last baht/riel they have, enjoying themselves with no concerns about tomorrow
NO matter what, it can always be done later ( mannana) :-)

This guy is crazy, don't worry about it. According to him you Cambodians are also the most dangerous people in the world - go figure.

I love these hard-working tourists, who come to a country where a lot of people work all day, every day to support themselves and an extended family, who call people lazy because it takes a while before their meal arrives. And who don't realise that a lot of these people hanging out in the street, actually live in the street.

(And anyway you should see the Laotians :plus1: )

To put it bluntly travelingmark is an ill informed tosser. Many of his ilk are just low budget drug tourists moving from one backpacker ghetto to another. Many of the Khmers that hang around these places are probably some of the worst elements of society and little more than pimps and drug pushers. The problem is that people like travelingmark come into contact with these bad elements and make the assumption that all Khmers are bad. If they stayed in better areas they would come into contact with better class people and have a more positive outlook.

Hehehe.. not the first time hear it. I read a book which was written by French, also said that Khmer is lazy.
Hehe I can be the laziest person, but Cambodian is the laziest nation in the world? Did the writer know all people around the world or just compare with few nations and assume it? When did they write it? Why Nike, Adidas, Samsung,... etc no factories in Cambodia? How many population in Cambodia ? About 15 million, Malysia 30million and Vietname 90 million. If a anyone need the high wage, will you assume him/her that the lazy person or because you want to employ people who can accept your lower cost for labour? Have the author ever worked in garment factories in Cambodia? Few years ago ( before National election ), the base salary of garment workers is only 90$ . They had to pay for food, electricity, water, renting room and save some for sending to families,.. etc.
