The price of Ara went up maybe 12 months ago to 2000 riel a pack. But recently they started squeezing 21 cigarettes into a 20 pack.
And, as an added bonus, the mom n pop shop across the road will give 500 riel for 2 empty packs (don't know why, but they do).
... give 'em a quick, short, sharp shock ...

This really sucks! It was only a few years ago that a packet of Ara cost me 1000 riel. Then it went up to 1200 riel, and about six months ago to 1300 riel.
This is inflation gone mad. In July a pack of Ara is going to cost me around 1500-1600 riel a pack. Must be time to start thinking about giving up before I go broke.

:unknown:
A blast from the past. This is really funny. How much for a packet of Ara today ?
Seriously, there is a lot of inflation on food costs, but the price of cigarettes hasn't increased much in 10 years.

I thought the deal was you give them four empty packs and you get a free pack . But then, I don't smoke.
No matter how much it rains, the dirt never washes away.

On the flip side, I am happy to be living in a country that cares about my health and is taking appropriate measures to insure I live a long, happy and smoke-free life! Kudos.
Just saw this post and it reminded me of a new American study just released. It's as I always suspected: pollution is as bad as passive smoking - at least for miscarriages. How will this change anything for countries that have jumped on the anti- smoking bandwagon for health reasons? Will they also control car and factory pollution in the same way? Thoughts?
