the bamboo bridge no longer exists. it was carried away by the river and now everyone uses only the concrete bridge to the island.
we were lucky to have seen and driven across the bamboo bridge a few years ago.

The reason I asked if you had rode across was we tried early this year. I realise the way for some years now is that of the crossing is done by the new bridge.
But the islanders built a narrower bamboo bridge in the same possition has before, solely for tourist reasons, at their own expense has always I am led to believe.

i was in kampong cham in january 2017 and the bridge was like this. large trucks passed easily over it. a few days ago I was there, but the locals said that 10 days ago the bridge was carried away by the river. at the moment there is only a concrete bridge.AndyKK wrote: ↑Sun Jul 26, 2020 2:45 pm

I was there a month ago in June, there is a bamboo bridge, it's much narrower than the old days, you just walk across to the island. The village on the island is also quite a bit wealthier than it was 15 years ago. It's very clean and well kept now. This is in part because of the new concrete bridge. For old timers like me it was better when cars could not access the island.

Yes they will, because it gets carried away down river in the wet season, SINUS will tell you because he was there 10 days ago, but the dry season that just passed you could only walk or push bike over the narrow bamboo bridge.
