* hours from SR-Kampot, you sound like Phucket Richard with his Kampot-Kep super speed challenge.talltuktuk wrote: ↑Thu Jul 23, 2020 6:43 pm I did a lot of Cambodia on a Honda Click. I got a lot of shit from the macho motorcycle expat community for not buying a huge macho bike and being as cool as them. I did mountain roads and dirt roads and villages and even rode it in the woods. I wanted to do as the locals do in as many ways as possible. I have no regrets and would do it again without hesitation. My longest ride was 8 hours from SR to Kampot in one shot, stopping only for fuel. Rode 10k miles total when I was living there. Easily one of the best years of my life.

I went all over the country on my Airblade. I must have ridden to Kampot and Kompong Saom 20 times.

I did a good trek across the northern borders on an old win copy about 10 years back, up Preah Vihear after handing in my passport at the bottom, Anlong Veng, Stung Treng. Was a rare old ride.
Now stuck in an office, preggers GF and one or two trips a year in the car someplace.

Did Ratanakiri-Mondulkiri 10 years ago with a friend. Two guys, two Honda Dreams. Unforgettable experience, couldn’t have done it alone. Had to carry the bikes across several streams, worrying about water entering the engine. My friend was hospitalized with a combi of dengue and malaria afterwards.
By a great adventure. Not sure a scooter could have done it.

Nice start SINUS and some nice photos too, was it Skun were you took the photo of the giant spider, we cannot pass there without having a snack and a take away bag, there tasty little buggers.
Always "hope" but never "expect".

Scooters literally can go anywhere. Loggers use supped up (double/triple suspension) scooters to carry out logs from single tracks all over the country's dwindling forests. Easy to get across rivers too, just use a snorkel.Kammekor wrote:Did Ratanakiri-Mondulkiri 10 years ago with a friend. Two guys, two Honda Dreams. Haha I didn’t intend to do it, just kept going. On the return trip I shaved 15 minutes off my time and made it in 7:45 door to door. My ass didn’t forgive me for a few days.Andy S Tawatin wrote: ↑Thu Jul 23, 2020 7:17 pm* hours from SR-Kampot, you sound like Phucket Richard with his Kampot-Kep super speed challenge.talltuktuk wrote: ↑Thu Jul 23, 2020 6:43 pm I did a lot of Cambodia on a Honda Click.
