Oh right. You're saying it's odd that his Facebook is wide open.General Mackevili wrote:What?General Chatter wrote:One thing which I find strange is most dodgy people dont have public access to they Facebook accounts( for example GM ) so he either is innocent or fucking stupid....

my Facebook account is open for all to look at....nothing to hide....
I've always found it more common than not for people to have waaaaaay too much public info on their Facebook. Criminal or not.
Michael Edward Harris (AKA Mike Dobbs) was making public videos on Facebook of himself training dogs in Sihanoukville, and he was on the US military's most wanted fugitives list. : facepalm:
Seems common practice these days.
Supposedly this is a picture from [NAME REMOVED]'s public Facebook page:

He's gotta be guilty of something.

I don't have facebook, but I've had it in the past with the strictest privacy settings enabled. I don't see what is dodgy about wanting to keep your personal life personal.General Chatter wrote:One thing which I find strange is most dodgy people dont have public access to they Facebook accounts( for example GM ) so he either is innocent or fucking stupid....

Ya as a general rule of thumb, don't post something you wouldn't want you mother, father, priest, police, teacher, employer or significant other to see. Then there's the public information you give out about your work and private life. But it's not like they couldn't find that information other ways, just makes it easier for them.MekongMouse wrote:That's why I don't have a facebook anymore.

You might not have an "active" Facebook account, but now you will ALWAYS have a Facebook account.MekongMouse wrote:That's why I don't have a facebook anymore.thePeck wrote:Nothing is personal or private on the Internet.MekongMouse wrote:I don't have facebook, but I've had it in the past with the strictest privacy settings enabled. It goes into that NSA data fortress to forever be catalogued to use against you and any time before and after you die.

Re: Be on the Lookout for This Guy (Sam Weston) in Cambodia
Jeez, the dude is on a rampage! Another report about him from Facebook:
SERIAL ROBBER IN PHNOM PENH
Hi guys, please be careful of the items you leave in lockers in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. In the hostels they recommend you leave valuables in lockers because the risk of bag-snatching on the street is high.
I'm in Phnom Penh, and on Wednesday 11th my locker in the hostel dorm was broken into by a guy called [NAME REMOVED]. He pretended to be asleep in the dorm when we checked in at 5pm and had checked out by the time we came back from dinner at 8.30pm. He used a hammer, screwdriver and knife to break the locker door and break my padlock on my rucksack. He stole my iPad and mine & my boyfriend's passports as well as my entire handbag and other belongings.
I'm posting because when we filed a police report, we found out that there have been other reports of the same guy stealing similar things around Phnom Penh (this happened in the area around street 178, reported to police on street 184). It seems like he is going round dorm hostels stealing people's belongings and he could be dangerous. I'm not even sure if that's his real name, but that is the name he checked in under at the hostel where it happened.
I've just seen that someone else has posted about the same guy too. Please be careful with your belongings - especially your passports!!! Safe travels everyone and enjoy SE Asia x
...His blood is in my rucksack. I found the bandage he was wearing in my rucksack. So it's covered in his DNA. Only the Cambodian police can't be bothered to investigate it. I'm going to speak to the police in the UK about it when I get home. Hopefully they will be able to help. If not I just wanted others to be aware because he has completely ruined my trip and I'm sure he's ruined others' trips too.
