Add the amount of UV light to that and you have a very hostile environment for viruses in droplets and on particles, except for air conditioned areas.
Temperatures need to be 60-70 degrees C (for 30 minutes) needed to kill the virus. No testing has been done at 30-40 degrees C.

Only UV C light kills the virus. The majority of light is UV A and B. UV C is usually filtered.

And if this was all true, why aren’t countries in the same latitude (such as Thailand and Vietnam) or even more south (such as Indonesia) reporting lower infection rates than Cambodia?

IMHO, I think it’s testing. Most foreigners will gladly pay for testing. A villager will think, bag of rice, case of beer, or test? Plus just taking the test (never mind a positive result) has serious negative social consequences.

From the article:

"The government will take no longer than 30 days to implement a state of emergency once the bill is signed into law. Soldiers are already on standby to ensure security and help citizens."

Makes you wonder why they're so eager to implement 'state of emergency' with just 110 confirmed cases and 0 deaths about 80 days after the first case.

My guess: travel restrictions for Khmer New Year (too late) and more power to the CCP to cut the weeds.
Travel restrictions over the KNY would make sense, I'm not too sure what measures will be taken. The Khmer Times are fucking illiterate idiots, they had this headline a few days ago:
Foreign citizens told to schedule commercial flights home
https://www.khmertimeskh.com/50708189/f ... ghts-home/

The article does not line up with the headline, it just regards advice from a few embassies about foreign tourists who actually want/ need to go home.
Silence, exile, and cunning.

Captain Bonez wrote: Fri Apr 03, 2020 5:03 pm Can you imagine if we did get locked down and then we start getting power cuts like we had exactly this time last year?
By this time last year the power cuts had nearly finished. The worst time was the second half of March.
Different area codes probably, amigo, because i remember in late April those full on power cuts they rotated from around 8am to 1pm or 1pm to 5pm still happening because i was sick as a dog and had to live through that shit, whereas people i knew in certain areas of Toul Kork didn't get a single one.

I keep hearing rumours, but nothing concrete, about a future partial lockdown on travel and/or curfew plans by the government. Does anyone have real information ?
As I said, rumours, only rumours...
I'm just asking a question. These noises could be totally false, so looking for news with a link to something official.

The only thing concrete I've seen is the passing of emergency laws recently, with an apparent caveat that the law can only be applied for a 30 day period. Amnesty International don't seem too pleased about it. https://www.amnesty.org/en/latest/news/ ... an-rights/

Interesting, as I was sick as a dog as well around that time. So sick, that I even quit smoking which I never even contemplated during previous illnesses. Limiting a bit, maybe, but quitting, no way, until that time last year. (And yes, I'm still not smoking, so that's almost a year, down from 3 packages a day...).

Anyway, I do remember that the power cuts were not occurring during Khmer New Year in 2019, and that was about the beginning of the end for the power cuts in my area (central PP).

I live in Vietnam and where I live, all shops, restaurants, and bars are closed. Outdoor exercise is not allowed and I have been stopped twice this week and asked where I was going. Face masks are compulsory and no more than 2 people are allowed to be together at any one time.

I do not know how it is enforced elsewhere as I cannot leave as all public transport has been suspended. (Is that lock-down enough for you?) However, as per the PM’s directive, this is how it is supposed to be everywhere. So, instead of insulting me, just take this as my perspective from where I live (and yes, I live in Vietnam).
