I don't see why anyone from a Developed Country would want to have a Cambodian Citizenship. Even if you were doing it for criminal reasons, there is still a chance the government would sell you out.
Someone with a brain.
Are you people smoking meth? You want a cambodian citizenship? I was offered one for 15k but I would have to give up my citizenship to my native land. Yeah let me sign right up! Lmfao.
Cyprus? Oh yeaaaahhhhh....

It will never happen. Too many vested interests. It may be tabled and promulgated, but effectively? Never.clippy wrote:if and when the ASEAN becomes like EU and citizens of cambodia can live and work anywhere across ASEAN, it will be VERY nice to have citizenship here
its a few years off, but will probably happen eventually

Aren't you an American? If so, there's nothing to prevent you having dual citizenship. No need to give up the native one. In fact there are only a few countries left that insist on single citizenship. The Add Jay wrote:You want a cambodian citizenship? Dual citizenship depends on whether the oath of allegiance contains a specific renunciation of allegiance to the mother country.
Many ( most? ) do.
I was one of the first Americans to benefit by Australia's removal of this clause.

Well there's that French guy who got it pretty cheaply by going through the official process and such. The test is where most people are screwed.Bitte_Kein_Lexus wrote:No way you could get it for 15k... Unless you're buddies with Ranny or somemething (or was offered it years and years ago).
http://www.cambodiadaily.com/archives/f ... hip-31785/For Pierre Yves Clais, who moved to Cambodia more than 20 years ago and married a Cambodian national, obtaining his citizenship three years ago came with a price tag of about $4,000.
“We followed the normal process…but you never get any inÂvoice because they are not official fees,†he said.
According to Mr. Vannarith, Mr. Clais is one of just 700 foreigners who have applied for Cambodian citizenship since 2000—most of whom are Chinese and Korean.

Dual citizenship annoys me. If push came to shove, who do you think, say, a Chinese-born immigrant to the West would be more loyal to?

whichever one was providing them with more of what they needed. most use it not out of some sense of patriotism to the original country, but for the benefits it provides.Satiated Parrot wrote:Dual citizenship annoys me.
