The CEO dilemma

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Perhaps we could rein in the epic bores of the forum...the people who post 100 times a day with the aim of either de-railing the thread, or antagonising others. No-one wants to read their drivel. Note that this isn't really aimed at Vladimir; whilst he does post a lot, his comments rarely de-rail threads (usually because they're just bad jokes) and are never antagonistic in the annoying sense.

Tough job, indeed, but we started this knowing it would be.

And to answer your first question:

Without even suggesting who they might be, I know at least a couple people from K440 who are super cool in real life and very popular with one username, and are a hated troll with another.

That shows me that many posters that some would label useless spammers are also labeled a valued poster by the same person.

We want to encourage those people to post in a way that benefits the CEO community, not annoy the fuck out of everyone just for their own amusement.

So, when someone signs up here that has been nothing but an ass with that same username over on K440 in the past, they get a fresh start here.

That's kind of playing the system. Who's got the time or inclination play brain fart games?

The need to be devious is a human attribute for sure.

Bring back Cambod, I liked him. lol

I moved to Cambodia because of the wild-west rawness. I don't agree with everything that happens here, but it sure is interesting to watch. That's what the old 440 was like for me. I don't mind the rants, petty slap fights, or the totally useless posts that are probably just for raising a user's stats. It's easy enough to scroll down.

I hope this site stays as unmoderated as possible! And with the "young bloods" currently involved, I'm optimistic!

And, some of Vlad's puns are pretty funny. <-- that smilie looks just like him! Hmm....

banter is one thing- spleen quite another.

a thing i find distasteful is unwarranted negative speculation regarding deceased persons unknown to posters.

having lost a brother to violence overseas,i think people should be mindful that the family's of those who lose their lives are often looking for any mention of the dead online.

to find a bunch of hyena's gloating and making sport of the victim is extremely painful- particularly when posters impute very base motives to circumstances surrounding the death without any real evidence.

let us avoid this type of posting here please.

all that moralistic and extremely hypocritical sexpat, deathpat nonsense serves no purpose except to reveal a certain neurosis by those posters.

hypocrisy in general is a rather ugly character trait.
