Re: TEFL question (please don't lynch me)
Sorry to bump this thread but it might be of benefit to someone new. More amazingly negative advice.
The Celta an amazingly intense 18 hours a day month? Only if you are thick. Yes it’s time consuming and you won’t do much else but it is easily manageable for anyone with decent grammar, average intelligence and an ability to communicate to a group.
There is unending work across the region if you are a native speaker, have a degree and a celta. Arrive anywhere and have a decent job in 2 to 4 weeks.
There is a load of work in some countries for native speakers with no degree or moody degree and Celta. Arrive and have a reasonable job in a few months
There is plenty of work in some countries with no degree, no Celta and an online tefl. Arrive and have a few jobs in language schools within a few months.
Nothing but a native speaker? Jobs are still available but it might take 6 months to build up enough work to be an income.
Non native speaker? If you have an MA or BA in science or maths you might get a job teaching those subjects.
Non native speaker with no qualifications? Okay now we are struggling.
Good luck to those seeking work. Persevere and you will find a job or jobs paying you plenty to support yourself reasonably.

Agreed - they are a vital part of the economy - in a tough job in a tough country.

franks post was june 2017, he does not post anymore, disagreement with modding practices here.
In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST
