techies versus brickys

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Sorry Charlie, Father James has already trudged down the path of righteousness on this forum and in the dives of ill repute in Shitsville to no avail. A man of the cloth he ain't.
As my old Cajun bait seller used to say, "I opes you luck.

Most of the jobs i have had i hated. Block work, jack walls, footings, and shit fletton work, Just waiting for the sound of brick bats in the mixer on a friday afternoon to signal the last guage of the day, then try to get rid of all the muck on your board as soon as possible. After that its in the tea hut, get your wages, get changed and roll a joint for the journey home.
Every now and then a good job comes up, a nice garden wall with a basket weave or a fancy brick pier with nice bricks.
I worked on Wimbledon magistrates court in the early 90s. It was all day work with very fancy piers, patterns, lots of dental features, every brick had to be perfect, or it was rejected and you had to start again, you only got the sack of you were a chancer/cowboy or the foreman didn,t like the look of your face. The architect got an award for that building.
oh well so it goes

http://www.perthnow.com.au/news/western ... e116fc01ac You may mock but robots will do everything soon. Even those chickens at the farm may be replaced. Perth has probably the cheapest brick and tile houses in the world, builders are super efficient and bricks cheap...

Hey Jamie, go check that out and tell us if it's true.
Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.

ive watched jurassic park too but it doesnt mean they gonna make dinosaurs out of frog DNA that video is bullshit

robots are good if the factories can make bricks that are 100% uniform, but they never do, suppliers only guarantee there is a 5-10% leniency with the uniform of the bricks, it wont work, the 3D houses sure, but not these brick laying robots, its stupid, at this time anyway, not impossible but you want to do things cheap, buying cheap un-uniformed bricks, cheap labour, lol ok then
