Tax patent to be required for EB visa extension?

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. So it was time to renew my business license an I was told I now had to register on their online service (registrationservices.gov.kh). No pb, but it really seems like a "corporate" company registration form.
I am a freelancer with less than 250M riel turnover and you can only register with a minimum of 250M...

@PSD-Kiwi Do you now if this is the right place to register for small business (apply for voluntary taxation and NOT VAT registration) ?

Having just gone through this, my notes are as follows;

1. They're bloody fussy- Passport photo needed manipulation to get the white background sufficiently white to be accepted.
2. The Estimated turnover threshold simply sets the minimum tax figure that will be submitted. $132. Estimate to earn more by all means; it simply puts the fee up.
3. It's glitchy. Save changes periodically, and before going forwards.
4. Covid, and many other things Chinese sourced is getting a bit tedious...*

feel free to ignore any/all of the above.

This will push many people to leave especially if the only option is a monthly EG.
I thought the EG extension was available for six months, did that change?

Normally you cannot extend an EG, but since Covid-19 you can extend EGs for one month at a time only.

It's nice to see that they have an all in one solution now, but the question is what is required going forward, specifically with the tax department. I really don't want to be submitting accounting reports all the time, and have no idea what my tax obligation is going to be beyond the $132/year.

Pre-Covid, E-type Visa holders were eligible to apply for 1x 6 month EG EOS, they then either needed to leave the country or apply for an EB, ER or ES EOS as long as they had the required supporting documentation.

Since COVID-19 travel restrictions, the DoI have temporarily stopped issuing 3 & 6 month EG EOS's, and only issue 1 month EG EOS's on a month by month basis, no need to leave the country to apply for subsequent Extensions.
