Dude...I love you I do. But the mass herd logic = good aint working for me. Just because masses of idiots consume bad food and shitty culture doesn't mean anything at all.General Mackevili wrote:Anyone who really can't see that MOST people enjoy Burger King is in the minority.dagenham wrote:
Fast food? What dolts eat that junk? And furthermore enjoy it? It's all bad news from any angle BK, Macs, KFC, etc.)...
You don't like it? Fine.
But if you honestly can't see why most people do, I think you need to expand your mind.
(Not addressing you particularity, just in general.)
It always reminds me of that time Yogi Berra said:
"Nobody goes there anymore; it's too crowded."
It means it's popular. So what? So is obesity, diabetes, strokes and alcoholism - they're all very popular! Along with Stallone and other mediocre "Action Hero" movies. Really now...are you a thinking discriminating consumer or blindly going to the feeding trough?
For the same $$ there are so many better options...but wait - everyone else is doing it so maybe I should too...can't be in the "minority" can I? That would be too elitist and arrogant? Pleeeease...
Some stuff the world offers up is shite. Fast Food. Soda Pop Beer. Blockbuster mindless movies. Yugo small cars. Fat White Female Bums. Yadda Yadda Yadda.
Say what, Dragoon? I have no vices...well... fast food aint one of 'em!OrangeDragon wrote:i love when people who have their own vices criticize others for theirs.
I really wish that it was as innocent as all that, Mate. The fast food industry costs the Western world massive amounts of dosh because of the myriad health problems associated with eating a lot of unhealthy food. Not to mention the innocent wee ones that they market to heavily.Alex wrote:dagenham, with all due respect, people in the West get too old already anyway. Can you imagine what would happen if they didn't eat unhealthy food once in a while, or even more often than that? It would be terrible. Plain terrible. I'm not ashamed to admit that I like to go to BK every now and then. I like many different kinds of food, so if I die from a stroke or diabetes (both unlikely, I might add), I won't be able to blame BK specifically.
Maybe you aint no whale, but many peeps have major obesity related problems and fast food plays a major role in this. Fast food is amoral plus is bad for your health plus taste like crap plus plus...the list goes on.
I agree that white people live too long - trouble i that they cost massive money to keep alive (in varying degrees of vegetable states) precisely because of bad lifestyle choices (i.e. fast food). Of course, people don't want to hear this glaring reality, especially fat Libertarians. So it goes...whatever...
Is it coincidence that your pitch on this is seemingly identical to posts made on another forum?pistolsrule wrote:bla bla bla
You're a smart bloke. That old worthless argument is so tired and flat by now. And the availability of guns? Aint no gun no one ever kilt no one ever - it was dem crazy peoples!...Bla Bal Bla...OrangeDragon wrote:And whisky is to blame for people being drunk... not people's inability to limit their consumption to reasonable levels.
Obviously with fully a third of people in the West overweight there is a systemic problem with food choice, presentation, information, distribution, etc. So all those tubby people are simply dumb fools making active decisions about making themselves sick by overeating? Maybe the "food processing" system needs to be changed?
Something is amiss these days compared to just 20 years ago...and the heavy promotion of fast food aint helping the growing health crisis. They are just corporations (like tobacco and gun makers) who don't care a whit about the welfare of their consumers. So what's new there, eh?
