What Is a Supermoon and When Is the Next One?

When the Full Moon or New Moon occurs during the Moon's closest approach to Earth, its perigee, it is often called a supermoon.

2020 will see two Super Full Moons—on March 9/10 and on April 8.
Full Moons in 2020
The Full Moon on April 7 or 8, depending on your time zone, is traditionally known as Pink Moon in many Northern Hemisphere cultures.
