Especially after he convinced them to shell out so much dosh for the damn thing.
If you go back to about mid may in bendix's posting history you see a pretty clear shift. His posts before that were participatory on several varied subjects with a few defending 440 slagging... around mid may people started figuring out he was scobienz and attacking him, so the majority of posts after that were all in a defensive posture. As have his posts since then by and large. When you spend all your time replying to attacks there's not much left for regular participatory conversation... so who knows what he'd be posting if he weren't always having to reply to the slagging.Soi Dog wrote:Are you taking the piss? Fucking hell. If you welcome their trolling, shit stirring and repeated CEO slagging/K440 promotion on here then by all means invite them back with your apologies. You are clueless.OrangeDragon wrote:.. though since he started getting attacked in there heavily he's stopped posting elsewhere on here, as one would anywhere they were made to feel unwelcome.
Playboy still does (his contributions in the VIP section when it was open were rather appreciated in fact, lol) from time to time... despite the pretty regular attacks on him by many members here. Though just as he is over there, it's usually just having some brief and cheeky fun more than anything else.
The other guy is still a regular poster here.
The worst of their posting has been in the Asinine arena mostly, while their posting elsewhere on the forum has been no more or less problematic than anyone else.
You'll find most of the slagging of CEO that happens on 440 is by users, not admins... aside from this petty little text change which is essentially meaningless to us. And by users I mostly mean Andy... which makes the whole Backstabbers Inc thing rather ironic.
As for the text edit... can't mention us by name? No big deal... people find us anyway. Can't link to us? We're already backlinked on several much more effective sites so it's no tragic loss. All it does is make their site look sort of dumb when the context in the conversation is distorted, make their users feel censored, make it impossible to reference relevant threads here and give us a laugh. I've even stopped bothering to de-link the k440 links that get posted on here... the impact is so small it's more work than it's worth. At the rate we're climbing in SEO K440 doesn't really matter...

That little punk Andy can only fool bozos on 440 with his self-proclaimed on his profound understanding of the Cambodian culture. You don't often see people who are happily married shared one's spouse (pseudo) accomplishments and shits to anonymous people on the web.

Re: stroppychops.com
As someone who has been an unwelcome contributor to Khmer440 and became fed up with the nastiness of the administrator (or was it three or four regulars - never figured that out) I have a suggestion.
I am not convinced that the anonymity of digital forums area good thing. What I would like to do is have a big party, or a small party *in the real world*. Instead of 'outing' admins and regulars and contributors of any forum, instead/as well meeting in the world of flesh and sweat and farts and poorly coordinated outfits and discuss differing opinions, backgrounds and current activities.
'Hi, I am X. I own a bar/work as an ESL teacher/am a retiree from Oz/am a day-trader who lived in Hong Kong/whatever, what's your name and why are you here other than for cheap visas and a live-and-let-live mood? This is my wife who runs the Seventh-day Adventist daycare/'Bopha' (unspoken: professional gf from Kompong Speu')/Rotweiler sex slave, although he's a 'top'/buddy from Yangon, we are opening a dive shop.'
This is not a real community, not that any such claims were ever made. But I notice a strange bend in social relationships since the advent of the internet - where people say, or rather write, things they would *never* say in person or write in a letter and post. Why? Because real communities live, er... in the real world. People behave much more civil, tolerant and reasonable in person. Forums bring out the psychopath in all of us.

A CEO Networking Event...?
There was no sarcasm or malice intended during the making of this post.

Ha! Well, I can't argue that point!Georgina wrote: Forums bring out the psychopath in all of us.
However, I would definitely consider this a "real" community.
I have met MANY of the members here on CEO and from the other forums dedicated to Cambodia.
We have meet-ups just like you described. Well, nobody brought their Rottweiler, LoL.

109 pages of engaging with a troll/sock is a new low.
