Strawberries!

I've seen some in Mondulkiri as well, but they didn't look good and were dwarf-sized. The tropics probably just aren't a good climate for strawberries (or common berries of any kind for that matter). I come from where the best strawberries in the world grow (I may be a bit biased, but I've never tasted strawberries as good as ours. Same goes for blueberries).

I worked as a strawberry picker when I was 14-15 or so. Man, that was shitty work for a tall kid. I was so slow and ate more than I put in my baskets. I figure eating all those strawberries at least made up for the crap pay.

in Central supermarket here in phuket strawberries go for around $9/kilo
plumbs
Peaches
Cherries
are also very expensive ($9-12/kilo)
even sweet mangoes are up to $2.85 or so a kilo

Go check out the prices at Aeon mall for the imported fruits.

The strawberry farms in Malaysia ( on the way to Cameroon Highlands) are terrible, tore down all the vegetation and put in all those plastic coverings to grow them. Their jam is great thou
