Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! A Story of Child Sex Abuse in Cambodia's Temples

Post by phuketrichard »

watched this, this morning, very moving. Its bad enough that normal people prey on kids, but when monks do it ,...there should be a special prison for them, ( same goes for catholic priest's)
In Cambodia, Buddhist temples are regarded as places of refuge and rehabilitation for the community, but for Bros it was the site of his sexual abuse as a child.

According to Socheat Nong, a child social worker, the problem of sexual abuse in Cambodia is a silent one.

"In general, people in Cambodia don't believe or accept the fact that sexual abuse happens to boys," she says. "Even those who work with children, including counsellors and social workers, know very little about how to help boys who have been abused."

It isn't limited to Temples and Churches!! Sadly a prevalent practice in the sandy part of the world. Worse still are the attitudes towards the abused.

There is a concerted effort to shut down any criticism of Islam in the UK. The sex scandals in the church is always called the "crisis in the "catholic church" , the Muslim rape gangs are always referred to as "asian sex gangs", the vast majority, over 90%, are Pakistani muslims.
The Muslim council of Britain are trying to get a law passed to make it illegal to criticise islam, they won't succeed but the fact that it is even being discussed is a worry.

Boris Johnson made a stupid joke last year that women who wear the burqua look like letter boxes and it was all over the news for a week and was discussed in parliament and suggested he should face hate crime charges. That same week an Imam in a mosque in ther north of england was secretly recorded telling people that it is a duty for muslims to go to syria and fight jihad, there was 2 clerics interviewed on the radio one evening who both agreed that this was possibly a hate crime but nothing happened and it was not mentioned again.

The UK has lost the plot. BJ's joke was just that, a joke. Totally blown up by lefty "goody-goodies,'' laws are passed to keep the original UK natives in-check. Sometime ago two of my colleagues were arrested at the airport for asking a very coloured check-in lady where she was from. They were taken away by the police, interviewed, given a warning and released without charge.
As proven in the case of the Asian Sex Gangs, Local Authorities, Social Services, the Police etc. are fearful of pursuing criminal activity against the Muslim community in case of being accused of racism and causing upset. Apparently the rape etc. of these poor young girls had been going on for years with authorities just turning a blind eye.
Ashamed to be English.
