Stolen Dogs Prepared for Meat and Leather in Cambodia (VID)

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. Stealing someone's beloved pet and raising livestock are so far apart that I'm completely and utterly staggered by your comment. My dog's dad was stolen, presumably to be used as food, and it was devastating for the family that had raised him since he was a pup. Absolutely nothing like stealing some farmer's sheep or something.
I think we're talking about different issues here.

Of course that's terrible. I mean, taking the stealing of a pet out of it, are you against using "dogs" for food and leather any more than you are for using cattle?

I just bought a new pair of Hush Puppies. They better be cow leather.

That's ruff. Tell your dog that I'm sorry for their loss.

different country different cultures
animals are seen in different way in different cultures and countries
in england we dont eat insects, i used to keep and breed praying mantises, i have also eaten them over here lol
jews and muslims dont eat pork, i have no problem eating pork
in africa they eat monkeys, id probs say thats worse than eating dog tbh lol
the way muslims kill their halal meat can be disturbing as well as the japanese when they prepare some of their raw fish/frog that are still alive even when being eaten
i love dogs but i dont see a problem with other countries eating them for meat, especially in these countries where they pretty much eat the whole of the animal with next to no wastage what so ever, if people kill and eat the whole animal they are far better than the people that kill an animal just for the "best bits"

the only issue with this whole dog eating fiasco for me is the fact most of the dogs are being stolen, a dog that is a family pet shouldnt then be stolen and turned into meat, nothing should be stolen anyway regardless of what it is

Muscle tissue stays alive for a while even after the animal has lost its brain functions. What you're talking about is most likely the zombie effect that you get when you apply salt, for example from soy sauce, to freshly killed tissue. It activates nerves and creates a spasm the same way as brains control muscle movement. It's an exaggeration to say that the animal is still alive.

What! The! Fuck!

I thought the video of the twitching frog legs was disturbing. Then I watched that video of the (cute) Japanese girl eating the insides out of a frog while the frog just sat there and stared at her, watching her eat away his insides. Nightmare material.
