Stingy Japanese Publicly Shamed in Kampot

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Every room, in every hotel or guesthouse, should have clean water, a kettle, some cups and a power outlet.
Also , free towels, Wi-Fi, coffee sachets, and hot and cold running hoooaaaares.
What else would one expect when one seeks cheap accommodation?

Try running or owning a guesthouse/hotel and you will know why some of those are not supplied . Many guest think that they have paid so much they must be included in the price so take them with them when they leave . A $20 security deposit does not cover the damage and losses done from some guests.
Sometimes it's more profitable to have no guest , than have a guest. It's not a easy business to be in.

Been there , done that, and oh the stories I could tell.
Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.

She looks like she has a touch of the tar brush about her.
The tar brush! I hope Trapper didn't get his bitumen laying hands on her. Any girl who had her ass felt by him would be scarred for life.

There's also a distinct hint of a solid yellow line

But... he wasn't staying at a guesthouse or a hotel. He was staying at a hostel. Most of these, especially the budget/cheapest ones to stay at, do not supply soap etc or allow outside food or drinks to be brought in.

If I saw a bar of soap in a Kampot hostel, I'd check the use-by date.

The human right to water is indispensable for leading a life in human dignity. It is a prerequisite for the realization of other human rights.

If your business needs to shame people for using water just maybe you're in the wrong business. It's named hospitality for a reason, have the decency to let the man have water for his noodles in peace.

I bumped into this guy. He was going round trying to pay for things in 100r notes.
Tell Nestle and Coca Cola that water is a human right.

As a business owner, you don't get into the habit of giving non-paying customers freebies. If your good blood, you might give a freebie to the local homeless, or a real down and out traveller.
But this guy was rude, weird, obnoxious, etc..and carrying a money belt full of Dollars.
He'd already been kicked out of another place previously.
