Spammer Dead... but a decent subject... Phone Jammers

I think you're getting confused with that awful Keanu Reeves movie.OrangeDragon wrote:there was one app that was suggested for this use that uses the accelerometer to stop them from working while they are moving over a certain speed. problem is it would impact passengers as well.EdinWigan wrote:would it not be easier to fit the vehicle with a device, that only allows calls through an authorised hands free? Fitted at point of manufacture ? or fit phones with an inbuilt tilt switch, really cheap and at a cost borne by the phone owner?

The place where I often long for a cell phone jammer is the airport. Whenever I'm sitting in the departure lounge, invariably someone will sit down near me and start carrying on a loud cell phone conversation.OrangeDragon wrote:Yeah, those are nice for the movie theatre... or just entertainment in public... like say, the market.

I do use the business lounges pretty often, and I am often subjected to annoying cell phone calls there, but I didn't want to say "business lounge" because it would have sounded pretentious.OrangeDragon wrote:by now i thought you'd be traveled enough to be using the nice business lounges and nearby cafes.

No point unnecessarily upsetting Vlad is there, he'll have you on his death list.Cam Nivag wrote:I do use the business lounges pretty often, and I am often subjected to annoying cell phone calls there, but I didn't want to say "business lounge" because it would have sounded pretentious.OrangeDragon wrote:by now i thought you'd be traveled enough to be using the nice business lounges and nearby cafes.

Thats sucks. I've never really noticed loud people in there, but it could easily be the time of day I tend to travel as well I guess. I generally shoot for overnight flights. Cheaper, more empty seats, and I can just sleep on the plane.
