Something in the water?

Post by ot mien kampf »

I've noticed a bizarre trend among a lot of the families I know - very gender uniform offspring. Lots of families with all sons or all daughters.

Is this typical and I only notice it because of large families in Cambodia? Or are couples predisposed to having mostly children from one gender?

Something I heard about a few years ago is that the gender is in part dependent on the PH of the vagina. Evidently the more alkaline it is the better chances for the slower, longer lifespan female sperm have a higher chance of fertilization. The opposite of course is for male sperm, a more acidic it is then it's favorable since they are lower lifespan but faster swimmers. Also how close to ovulation is a factor also, the female sperm can outlast the male sperm hanging around waiting for the egg.

As I've been told many local women don't take are of issues and bacterial problems in their nether regions due to cultural stigmas in going to a doctor and telling them so they can get help. So probably they still have lower PH vaginal fluid even during ovulation, then with a women with healthy PH levels, so the female sperm have a higher chance of fertilizing the egg.

What I've gathered is not that sperm favor acidic or alkaline vaginal fluids but that the female sperm are heartier and able to last not only longer naturally but also able to last longer in alkaline fluid then male sperm.

Still it can be up to the male that he's either not producing as many or less of one type XX/XY sperm. Really this is all conjecture, there's so many factors and many that you may never know.

PH varies from 3.8 to 4.5, in the healthy state, trichomoniasis and similar infections causes the pH to go higher than 4.5
