Some people don't understand even if they are told
Re: Some people don't understand even if they are told
Explorer, maybe you should reconsider your 'friends'.
I mean, a 'friend' of yours kills someone in traffic, he's the one to blame, and all he cares about is to pay a smaller amount of compensation.
Not sure I would like someone like that as my 'friend'.
Or no, I am sure. I wouldn't want someone like that around as my friend. He's not just stubborn, he's an immoral prick.

About riders and drivers not listening as mentioned in the many posts here, it seems it’s only meant for Cambodian riders and drivers. I’m just curious if drivers and riders in say the UK or States or Australia or Hong Kong or Singapore etc for example are better listeners.

In most cases they are better drivers and better educated.yong wrote: ↑Mon May 27, 2019 6:00 pm About riders and drivers not listening as mentioned in the many posts here, it seems it’s only meant for Cambodian riders and drivers. You can, especially with the Dream 125s because they're fairly torquey. My family does it all the damn time and it drives me nuts, start the bike in 3rd and then shift to 4th the moment the clutch stops slipping.cptrelentless wrote: ↑Mon May 27, 2019 12:09 pm I thought everyone just drove their bikes in 2nd. 3rd is only for special occasions, you can't start it in 3rd.

I know many moto riders who I wouldn't feel safe standing within 200 meters of. Yet I also know many moto riders who I happily ride pavilion with. Cambodians have a wide spectrum of attitudes when it comes to the rules of the road. Many, many are aware of the idiots that give Cambodians a bad name and they ride/drive appropriately. I know far more safe riders than I know dangerous ones. It's just that the dangerous ones stand out more and tend to stick in your mind. But don't allow them to give all Cambodian riders a bad name. Many drive/ride perfectly responsibly.
The difference between animals and humans is that animals would never allow the dumb ones to lead the pack.

I know I certainly wouldn't be listening to anything explorer says in real life, assuming he uses the same lecturing/condescending tone he uses here. Can't blame anyone for rolling their eyes at someone with a holier-than-though/I know better finger pointing attitude.

There are members of this forum who were born 200 years to late, they would have been excellent colonials and / or missionaries.
There are people who cannot imagine that there are other ways of life than their own life.

Re: Some people don't understand even if they are told
In the first days of my main job in PP (factory stuff), i just playfully made a whole circle burn with my scooter, in front of the factory, when arriving in the morning.
You know, one foot on the ground, and one foot on the scooter, full throttle & gas, drifting back wheel ?
Then, when i had something to say about road safety tips at meetings, they were interested, asking questions.
Got to show off a bit to get street credit. 35 km a day, go & back. That helps.
