This is a part of our Cambodia forums to chat about anything Cambodia-related. This discussion forum is at the top of our site because it's usually the busiest part of the expat community chatter with random topics on just about everything, including expat life, Khmer politics, Cambodian blogs we have or have come across, or whatever else our members want to discuss. Whether you're an expatriate, tourist, Cambodian or random traveler just passing through South East Asia, you are welcome to talk about anything or start new topics yourselves.
sounds like for whatever reason, the pipes were opened up and that's why the water was shut off for a period. they'll need to be flushed out to get clean water as the earlier poster did. depending on what you're doing with the water you may want to boil it first.
When the pipes are at full pressure there may be leaks but in an outward direction. If the water is cut off external effluent can leak in through those small gaps. Some of the pipes will be going through foul soil, for example the ground under a motor shop. Those pictures are worse than I've ever seen, quite disgusting.
