You can type in numbers on you phone to get various plans.

https://www.smart.com.kh/get-smart/plans/powerplus/
Just download the SmartNas App, you can pick & choose much easier & see your balance left, bla bla. Also Smart is the first telco to allow you to see ALL your add-ons, extra services, etc. that "cut balance" and unsubscribe in that app. Also to get add-ons/ extra services you must "opt in", so there should be no reason to complain about losing balance. For Cellcard I have to use their Facebook support channel (good) to opt-out from their "lucky draws" & whatever else nearly monthly - after they've taken the $0.05 of course.. Multiplied by a few millions subs ... Metfone - business dealings were beyond awful, never got as far as ever wanting their SIM; if I'm that remote in the sticks, it's because I want to be left alone!

nkotb - I guess you're still on some voice dedicated plan, switch to PowerPlus or another with a data allocation & you'll find that your $5 goes a heck of a lot further.

Right, you are cautioned to renew before the plan expires for the week, however I was getting texts that it was auto renewing.

I had a dongle also, and found at that time Metphone had the best data only deal, but I realize things change fast.

Smart seems to have always been a good choice and last time I tried, it was only like .04 cents a minute international calling. That's $2.40 ah hour! I'm sure maybe its a bit more, but that also factored into it. I never talk on my phone, i only use it for texting, usually through FB so all is good, although 'she' uses it I suppose to save her own minutes and it seems to work fine.

I wasn't getting any messages* to say my plan had renewed for the week (or if it had failed) so I'd find myself in the street wondering why my data and credit had suddenly disappeared. I guess this is where they make most of their profit, stealing the <$1 balance from people's accounts by charging for that out of plan data at exorbitant rates.

*OTOH, it's possible I accidentally put that on my block list because I was getting so many spammy messages from Smart. But they are working again now so perhaps not.

Its a fantastic plan if you have it set up right. I got it all set up at the phone shop where I got the sim, and my GF did it all and took the instructions. She warned me to renew and then I showed her the auto-renew text I got, so she said it was fine and so far, for three weeks, working like a charm.
