Sihanoukville Hospital Accused of Leaving Foreign Man to Die in Tuktuk

Post by CEOCambodiaNews »

Sihanoukville, Cambodia News: A damning accusation of hospital neglect was posted on social media on April 4, 2019, when an unidentified foreigner who was very sick, passed away in a tuk-tuk after allegedly being ignored by the doctor at the Chamkar Chek Hospital, in Sihanoukville.

According to a social media account named Makara Sros, " I am sorry for the victim's family," a woman took her sick foreign husband by a tuk-tuk to the provincial hospital (Chamkar Chek Hospital) asking for help. According to her, the doctor and medical team at the hospital didn't care about the patient, as they didn't take the victim inside to the hospital room for treatment, but left him in the tuk-tuk to die.

From facebook: "I felt sorry for the victim's family who got a bad treat by the hospital. Please, all people concern about taking your family who got sick to the hospital where caring about the patient. Otherwise, you will get the same experience as this family. "

Photos of the deceased are posted on the darknet if members wish to check his identity.
RIP.

If you get sick, provided you didn't have a stroke and forgot who you were, take your bank passbook with you with say $6 grand in it and take some hundreds that you should keep around for emergencies.

If someone has an accident, most people are not carrying that amount of money.

If you are not well enough to go to the ATM, you may have a problem.

Carry a photo copy of your insurance with your blood type written on it.

A while ago I had a friend who wrapped himself and his bike around a lamp post. The first 5 or so clinics they tried to take him to refused to accept him because it looked like he wouldn't make it and didn't want the hassle of him dying on their watch.
If you enjoy noise pollution and obnoxious driving practices, Phnom Penh is the place for you!

This.

Jesus, that's grim.

I take it then that Cambodian doctors don't bother with the old Hippocratic Oath.

I wonder if they ever consider what Buddha would think of that, whilst they're at the Wat waving joss sticks around and praying for a bigger SUV.

Souless cunts.

Worst nightmare in Cambodia, to be fckd up in a Hospital, insurance or not, if they let you in!,maybe they knew he was dying right there and then, ive been in 3rd world hospitals but thank fck not Cambo, other than getting stitches, its like Fawlty Towers what ive seen but not funny at all and are just money spinners, a friend was in unnamed hospital 4 days and they gave him a self morphine medicating button thing so he pumped it and would be asleep all the time, every hr or so a nurse would wake him up, "how ru, u ok", he had to ask them to stop waking him up, got his bill, ontop of usual extortion everytime nurse woke him up and ask "u ok" he got billed $100 for consultation !, morphine bill was nearly a grand. Feel for this guy and his misses and family but here if yr Barang no money, no insurance, fact of living here, your fckd if yr fckd, if yr a local hopefully you would have a medical card but there seems to be issues with some peaple not obtaining and some having them that shouldn't, not good advertisement for tourism must say. Cambodia would not be a good choice for a barang with no money and no insurance. But then there are barang who do not make good choices. CEO has posted quite a few who create go fund me pages to pay for their medical care.

I didn’t know that all Cambodians have a medical card. What is that?
