Siem Reap // Pub Street

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. Siem Reap // Pub Street

Post by SEAdude »

Thinking of heading up to Siem Reap. Anyone up there know the current situation (is it still fun) or is Pub Steet dead? There are some really good deals on guesthouses up there and I am just wondering.

Thanks!

Most things on Pub St are closed so it's pretty well dead. But a few places along Sok San road are open and more seem to be re-opening, including the sports bar, Score. Not that there any sport going on for them to show. Apparently they're doing 75c beers but I can't confirm that.

Around town there are a few places still going, the markets are still selling fruit n veg, food panda delivery bikes are everywhere and the supermarkets are well stocked. It felt a bit weird when it all started to get really quiet and I wouldn't say it's fun exactly, but it's possible to live a more or less normal life here.

Pub street is still primarlily shut down. The KTVs are closed and the clubs. Most "bars" are shut down, Draft Bar on Sok San is open if you want to sink to the bottom of the pond and slurp up the flotsam. There is a Tuktuk Bar open. Several restaurants on Sok San are open as are Jungle Burger, Cafe Soriya, Wood Fired Pizza etc. The pharmacies are well stocked as are the markets. The tourist shops are closed. You need to wait for a tuk tuk for 5 minutes. The street food vendors near the river are still open. Its kind of nice, I go to my local hangout, drink tea and smoke weed, ver peaceful.
