A Siem Reap family business - gone forever?

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

A Siem Reap family business - gone forever?

Post by mammothboy2 »

Many who read this forum will remember the unendearing young women (each was invariably carrying a child who looked not long for this world) who waylaid the gullible in the street in front of what was Molly Malone's Bar / Restaurant / Guest House at the Sivutha Blvd end of Pub Street.

The recited litany was "I don' wan' money, I wan' milk-for-the-baby," and the sapheaded punter would be led to the supermarket below X-Bar, milk-for-the-baby would be purchased and - as you can guess - once the punter was out of sight, the milk was resold to the supermarket.

They were at this for years and, at a guess, it seemed to be a family business.

Yet they seem to have disappeared as though victims of alien abduction.

Can anyone shed light on this state of affairs?

I know nothing about it, however THE DESTINATION EXPERTS on tripadviser.com harbored a special hatred toward them and will rejoice in their possible demise.
