As an American, I'd never suggest getting into an argument on politics with those not American. They don't get it, and they have penis envy.

I understand that Im just summarizing for the sheeple.nightmare.believer wrote:It's not that simple. Khmers didnt want to fight....but when it comes to Killing V.C they love it. Ask any Khmer in the countryside about it who lived threw it.
They will tell you point blank: Kill Vietnam Good!
How much support did the US Give Cambodia? and they squandered it. So simply Nixon said...fuck it bomb the roads and countryside...dont hit the urban areas. We need to protect south Vietnam and U.S Troops. And thats what he did...in the most badass fashion.
What p.m leader king president doesnt have blood on them? Its like everyone wants a saint to rule. Its a fantasy.
Get a grip and come back to reality.

Your own posts seem to prove that you are, in fact, the retarded one.

America lost this war (Vietnam War) to a bunch of rice farmers.nightmare.believer wrote:As an American, I'd never suggest getting into an argument on politics with those not American. They don't get it, and they have penis envy.
American foreign policy has always been a disaster.
You'd be much better off if you just stayed home and made cars and thought of faster ways to cook pizza.

Actually Sihanouk from what I understand had a policy of "Extreme Neutrality" and was trying to play everyone off of each other. Even when the Americans started bombing the border areas, he didn't protest or publicise this.nightmare.believer wrote: It's not that simple. Did America really lose though? They did stop the domino's from falling. That was 1 main objective. The other which was from south Vietnam to prevail.

Whether America lost or not, I don't know if that's a question America has even ever addressed. Hollywood only seems to portray and associate Vietnam as a place where Americans went to fight and go insane.
They never made a movie portraying the actual outcome of the war (to my knowledge, if anyone can suggest some Vietnam War movies other than the usual suspects I'm totally game). To me that this is how America addresses such things culturally; through the cinema.
From the reading I've done I'd say they lost. If you attack a country and then leave with your tail between your legs, flirting with insanity, I'd count that as a loss.
Did they really stop the dominos from falling?
Laos and Vietnam = Communist.
Cambodia went communist for 5 years.
I think Capitalism won because it's the system that more accurately reflects human behaviour. (There was some Chinese President in the 80's who introduced more capitalistic type reforms (I can't remember his name) he said something along the lines of, "Black Cat, White Cat, who cares as long as it catches mice").
American's are the best Capitalists, Entrepreneurs and Innovators. If they conquered the world it wasn't through military conquest, it was through McDonald's and Starbucks and that Capitalism even with all it's ills, is more realistic and closer to how humans actually operate than Communism.
That's my opinion anyways, and I am no expert, so I'm open to more discussion on the topic.

It seems the propaganda of the day persists still.
From the postings I see here, I doubt many have read any first hand accounts from either side of the fence.
A clue: a lot of what you read is politically influenced.
Why buy into it?
Were you there?
Were you even alive then?
