I heard it isn’t cancer but bronchitis or phenomena, or something like that. Which is good news.
That would mean his family is lying in the gofundme request about him having lung cancer.

Maybe you should not say "I heard he doesn't have cancer" unless you are sure he doesn't have cancer, it is a serious matter.

Jason said his uncle had fallen into a coma.
He has since regained consciousness, although he is currently struggling with speech and requires more treatment before he is well enough to travel.
Coma? I'm no medical man, but sounds like he doesn't have long left in this world, hardly realistic to hop on a plane.

I wish him well. Hopefully we can get clarification on whether he has terminal cancer or not (is that a Cambodian doctor's diagnosis?).

Yes but despite your feelings, you can't legally access the NHS etc. You have to get some time in the UK first.

It was part of some fudge created when Romania and Bulgaria were joining the EU, to not give them immediate full rights to the UK welfare state. However it's illegal to discriminate in law between British citizens and other EU citizens, so the new residency rules had to apply to all, including you.
Sounds a bit like the Aussie system where if you've lived overseas for more than 5 years, you have to re-enrol for Medicare AND prove you are now living in the country by providing a number of documents. It's not automatic upon your return in that instance.

55?
His son is 42 so he was 13 when he became a father!
He’s 65.

Oh wait, it might not be cancer or even bronchitis, but phenomena? That's even better, it saves potential donors 10,000 GBP, saves me the cost of a pack of Fisherman's Friends, since phenomena will go away in a week to 7 days with or without treatment.

Not in every case:Many factors affect how serious a case of pneumonia is, such as the type of germ causing the lung infection, the person’s age, and their overall health. The people most at risk are infants and young children, adults 65 or older, and people who have other health problems.

Pneumonia is a leading cause of hospitalization in both children and adults. Most cases can be treated successfully, although it can take weeks to fully recover. Tens of thousands of people in the U.S. die from pneumonia every year, most of them adults over the age of 65. https://www.lung.org/lung-health-and-di ... monia.html

If it is in fact Pneumonia which hospital in Phnom Penh misdiagnosed it as Cancer?

Family's desperate bid to bring sick Norwich City-loving relative home from Cambodia
PUBLISHED: 17:43 23 September 2019 | UPDATED: 17:43 23 September 2019
Dale Woods, 64, is currently in hospital in Phomn Penh.

The former postman, who moved to Cambodia around 10 years ago to do charity work, fell ill earlier this month and was admitted to hospital after tests revealed he had potentially terminal lung cancer.

In a bid to bring him back to the UK for treatment Mr Wood's family have been desperately trying to raise the funds needed to repatriate him while also covering the cost of his current treatment in Cambodia.

But, his family have said spiralling Cambodian medical costs, in the region of $1,500 a week mean they are unsure of long they will be able to keep Mr Woods in hospital.

Brenda Woods, 73, Mr Wood's sister-in-law said the family had enough funds to pay for Mr Woods to stay in hospital until Saturday: "It's just adding up and every time you ask [medical staff] to do something they add it to the bill."

"It's made us realise how lucky we are in this country [to have the NHS].

"We just assume that it's there, we moan and groan that you can't get an appointment but it just goes to show how much we rely on the NHS."

"I don't know what's going to happen, there's only three of us in the family who can afford to pay. We just can't afford the bills, its just a sad story."

Philip Woods, one of Mr Woods' siblings has visited his brother in hospital this week, reporting on his brother's condition to the rest of family, Mrs Woods said she understood Mr Woods' to be drifting in and out of consciousness.

She said: "I sit and cry about it some times, he originally went out there to help others and now there's no one who will help him.

"Dale is an avid Norwich City fan, he's got his Norwich City shirt beside him in hospital."

Mr Woods' family have set up a Go Fund Me page with a goal of £10,000 to bring him back to the UK.

They have also sought help from the British Embassy but were told this would not be possible, she said: "It was quite a blow because we were relying on them to help us get him home."

His Brother came to KOW to see him, he drifts in and out of consciousness, diagnosed with potentially terminal cancer. Only three members of his family are in a financial situation to contribute, at $500 a week each it would be a burden to most. Not everyone comes from a family that is comfortably wealthy and even fewer of us have made a million on cryptocurrency.

No mention of bronchitis or pneumonia, while I note that there have been some "grifters" and BS artists posting on the forum lately, it is sad when some make this man's plight the subject of there petty humour or judgement.

No one ever mentioned pneumonia. It was speculated that he contracted either bronchitis or phenomena.

plural form of phenomenon.

Tell me of this disease and how it is cured, my friend. Obviously much a funnier form of the illness than terminal cancer
