Should Trapper be banned again?

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

compassion is only ahead of the guillotine by a single vote.
i think we will just have to wait and see what happens over time to mr trapper.
at least we have no batshit crazy etc here.
kings had jesters and whipping boys who sometimes told painful truths via allegory in old times.
i will not be voting in this poll btw.

some may regard him as a troll, but he is getting plenty of trolling back.
as it should be.

censoring really sucks. if people are polite and do not overtly insult members in particular or as a whole class then you can just skip their threads if you don't like 'em.
but i notice trapper's troll threads are highly popular LOL.
gives irritable old guys a chance to vent spleen to a degree, hand up i am guilty too.

There's a difference between happily trolling (we're all guilty of that, or should be) and just being an annoying twat. Since being back on the forum, I've only noticed him being a twat.

So my vote is to put him on mod preview AND kill off all current and future socks.

mod preview is like purgatory
worse than hell
final damnation is less painful

i am sure the fascist administrative team will take all views into consideration and perhaps even develop a blanket policy perhaps based on karma points.

in essence though it is up to members to express their approval or disapproval of posts on an individual basis.

after all this forum was founded in part on the censoring and banning of unpopular opinions and individuals in another place and time.
so lets don't become what we formerly decried.

however- i am all for the idea of a superannuant Gentleman's Club as formerly found in colonial times- as i have mentioned on many occasions. all those meners should pay dues and have a physical presence.
other than that- this place should be Liberty Hall in my view, to the degree allowed by local jurisdiction.

if we exclude ppl we collectively find objectionable- there will be no more posters.

as mentioned earlier, trapper's posts get a lot of response. if you don't like him, why respond?
are you all trying to reform him?

those things we object to have a grain of truth- that is why we all respond to the provocation.
that and the lies
LOL
we are all ostensibly grown up men and ( lamentably but understandably few ) women here.

it is true though- that purely negative postings will get you arbitrarily banned.
people only get banned after review of their posts.
it takes a lot to get banned here with many PM requests and group adjudication.

it is good to have a bit of provocation, but i will draw the line at flat earth and reptilians.
i am well paid to censor dat sheeit.

So all we have to do is report every single post he ever makes?

Duly noted.

i see they are calling to permaban that batshit over at the other place.
we did that already.
so, we the benevolent fascists who rule here are looking out for the interests of our subjects, whoops members, by stifling even minor weirdness dissent or trolling.
rely on us to keep this a heavily moderated safespace for libtard lgbt and right wing race haters ( up to a point ) for your personal security and comfort.
we wlll be competition to thai visa, just more exclusive.
jeez, we already murdered SM for you. how can we ever get that blood off our hands? you are all culpable in that you know.
that is all.

I'm against censorship. I agree with FLB that we should try to do without banning people if possible.
I find mod preview patronizing and judgemental. It is also a pain in the arse for mods. I'm sure they have better things to do.

:dm: However, Trapper shouldn't be trolling new posters on the Intro forum. That is out of order. New members don't know that Trapper is FOS*. Keep it up Trapper, and I will spam your PM box with memes of cats and Jesus. =@ If it gets really ugly, I will spam you with Eric Cartman fart memes. (Then I will get banned for misbehaving. Lol)

Let's leave the voting open for a little longer for others to vote. Can we have a cut-off time ? Then we go with what the majority wants and I'm good with that. :beer3:

I don't know what my vote is worth around here, but I voted MOD PREVIEW. :stir:

A note to RiceFarmersDaughter: I personally think you "CAN" be a very good contributor for CEO, and often are. However, it does seem that you quite often try to make a mess of things. That we really don't need.

If you can turn it down a few hundred thousand notches, it would be great. If not, you realize we just have to ban/mod preview you, for no other reason than nobody is allowed to come on here and display trollish behavior to annoy us all.

You've been with CEO over the years, so it would a shame to lose you, but that doesn't give you or anyone a free pass to be a dick.

And, let's be honest, you have to know damn well when you're crossing the line or not.

Anyways, this couldn't have been brought to our attention in a stronger way, so just take it as a good ol' fashion warning.

I have it on good authority that Frank Lee Bent sleeps with his ban hammer, and has another one he always keeps under his moto seat, so if you really can't play nicer on CEO, we just can't have you aboard.

P.S. Speaking of trolls, I just got to Siem Reap, and hope to catch up with an old buddy, The Flying Chicken, for a beer or 7, even though he has made it impossible for us to let him fly free on here. Image

Orange Dragon had a free pass to be a dick, back in the day. Ah, good times.

And there is zero chance that he won't be back in some poultry fashion. Give him my love.
