Shithanoukville!!!!

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Wouldn't mind heading back to Koh Rong later this year, though the idea of dealing with shit makes me think I shouldn't bother

To see all these buildings growing up like mushroom is one thing, but to imagine many of them partially finished and abandoned is another thing. It would be depressing :dm:

I'm afraid of a chinese ghost town like below

Wow...

I guess that demolishes the old 'build it and they will come' and ‘the Guggenheim effect’ maxims.

For Chinoukville, the best I saw was the SSEZ, Modern Factories with a great infrastructure and the village of nice housing and amenities for the workers right next door, plus bang on for the ports so the carbon footprint is less.

Part of the string of pearls.

The Chinese there treated me to a tour and a slap-up with beer.

I can't fault them.

Their teams and companies there speak English and are a pleasure to be with.

I didn't win anything, but I CAN say they made losing a delight and a lesson.

Thanks for your feedback. When I take a look at the pictures and read the news it's hard to see the positive aspects. But I'm not there.

I will definitely return to Koh Rong as it was amazing! 6 days if suns sea and ...
We did have the Saturday at Otres beach which was interesting.
Being Chinese New Year it was mobbed with families eating and drinking and having great fun!
Wonderful to see this within all the nastiness around us!
This part of the beach itself was okay.
Not messy like further along. This was the end where you drive straight down to. Right in front.
From about 200metres from the right it started to get messy.

If I knew how to post photos here I would!
