She took my photo too [STRANGE WOMAN'S PICTURE ADDED]

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

It doesn't sound like she has been trying to take controversial photographs, or trying to hide what she is doing in any way. No photos of western men with children or local girls. If that's the case, it seems more like a case of questionable/poor manners rather than anything more suspicious. Maybe she thought the OP was particularly photogenic. Still, reasonable behavior would be to either ask permission first or politely explain yourself after taking the desired shots. It looks like she was interacting with some of the other customers in one of those photos of her. Maybe that is what she was expressing to them. Posting her picture should bring some answers or clarifications, I would think. :thumb:

Every time I've been told that in Vietnam or Cambodia I've believed it, now you saying it just ruins the whole illusion.

if i see someone is about to take a picture of me i immediately cover my face with my hand, usually that is enough of a hint that i dont want my photo taken and at that point the photographer will stop. but once or twice after ive covered my fce and people have continued trying to photograph me then i get up and have a stern conversation with them.
