Seeking to Raise fund to open A Burger Vendor
Hello all,
After contemplating for the past many days, I think this is the best option for me in the long run -- though I'd love to beat Username Taken's record . I’ve always been afraid most of my life to venture a business on my own, but it is either now or never.
I’ve been doing research in the downtown Siem Reap in the last few days regarding this bussiess; my findings were the franchise burgers are mediocre i.e. Lucky burger and KFC with exception to 1 or 2 Western restaurant, but their burgers are priced at high end. My burgers isn’t than spectacular either, just something can fill one’s stomach and healthy.
My start of approach is selling 3 different priced burgers, minimum price at $1.50 and maximum at $3 selling from a cart at the tourist location. The beef patties will be homemade and grilled over a charcoal when ordered.
My aim is to sell 50 burgers per day in the first month; I am enthusiast about this as the tourist season is approaching and no one the street yet to sell it. If this goes well in the first month, I’ll put an additional chicken burger on the menu.
I am seeking no more than 1000USD fund in order buy basic equipment such as cart, grinder, grill and an ice box. My plan of repayment is setting aside 10% of the income weekly after the first month.
My skills are:
-I speak fluent Khmer and English
-have some experience in the hospitality and food business
-background in marketing and management
To best honest, I am very nervous about this as a lot more study and preparation needed before launching, and it's something outside of my comfortable zone. But it's definitely better than living on an unstable ESL and online income.
And just in case this venture won’t work out, I’ll transfer back the amount – preferably if the fund is received by in person, Wing or Paypal.
My ideal cart is something like this:
Flame away boys!

Re: Seeking to Raise fund to open A Burger Vendor
so a profit of apx , what, $20 after costs??My aim is to sell 50 burgers in the first month;
you will need at the least a cart attached to a moto ( or you planing on pushing it?) so ur going to need more$$
I know u speak Khmer, but do u hold a Cambodian Passport? otherwise the locals wont let u set up .
Fish is cheaper than Meat an many ( at least here ) like fish burgers, a fish or chicken burger here is 50 baht or with cheese 60 ( $1.50-1.80)
that includes, roll lettuce, tomato, sauce an onions if u desire
Best of luck

I hope you mean 50 burgers per day in the first month. An average of 2 burgers per day is hardly a business.flying chicken wrote: My aim is to sell 50 burgers in the first month;

I'd charge a little more - because I'd pay a little more. Also, keep some onions frying, westerners can't resist the smell of onions frying.
Sorry we can't help financially, but good luck.
