"Science does not kill God"

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

I will get out of my arm chair long enough to ask how does one gather evidence against that which does not. exist?
Yeah, okay, I admit the title is a bit click-baity - a discussion starter.

I think the emphasis is on categorically denying nonexistence ... I think the physicist is taking a poke at people who declare "There is no God" as a declarative statement of fact, rather than "I don't believe in God" which a statement of belief.

Atheists make themselves gods, which is actually one of the fundamental beliefs of Satanism :)

I wasn't brought up religious and sometimes I wish I had some traditions and rituals (for want of a better word) and the sense of community that attending a church or pagoda etc provides.

I admit that it does sadden me to see churches turned into mosques and the decline of Christianity as I really don't think that the "do what thou wilt..." or do what makes you feel good philosophy has been that great for society as a whole.

Meh...maybe I'm just getting old.

Do you really believe that? Personally I've been quite happy with my mortal status and I reject all "isms" as facile categorizations.

RA, I didn't ask if you were a Satanist, I merely wanted to know if you believed "Atheists make themselves God's." When confronted with such spurious nonsense I'm inclined to share Mick Jagger's sympathy for the devil.

More nonsense. A failure of math represents no proof for God. How about some more details about this symbol. What does it look like? How can math explain the origins, not creation please, of the universe?

Science does not kill God, but religion frequently cheapshots Science. How many centuries passed until the current Pope forgave Galileo for stating that Earth was not the center of the universe?

As for the God on this forum life is too important to take you seriously.
