say goodbye to uncensored internet in Cambodia

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

What slow speeds? I stream without hassles at 3.5mb/s, and many people have 5mb/s or more

Why must everything be a criticism of Cambodia?

The speed is fine, and i suspect the censoring will be political. If anyone cared if you watch Thai ladyboy porn or download the latest Game of Thrones epi, it would have been blocked years ago

I suppose for those who want to watch doofus Ricketson flying a drone in hi-def live, they may have to up their account to over 3.5mb/s

Won't affect most on here.
Because in the West anything under a 100 Mb per second is considered slow?

Indeed, just got it. 3 years for 99$. If they claim to open the datacenter in Q3 they are probably running it now.... Never trust a government.
The DMC has been running for several years already and already have access to a lot of ISP data, just not in real time. This latest change will enable them to do that.

The concern was with streaming...one does not need 100mb/s for movies...perhaps some games, I don't know. But I get good movie streaming with 3.5 - 5mbs peak.

“They said they might be forced to carry out self-censorship, and feared for their safety when sharing news and information on Facebook, or even clicking ‘like’ on the social media pages of opposition parties and those opposed to the government,” Chanroeun said.

That's SD, though. And assuming your streaming server is somewhere in the immediate vicinity, and not down a long cable across the ocean. 5 Mbps is very slow.

When I stream it asks me to select definition..I select HD..is that still SD, like a relative definition or something?

The picture is pretty good and I have a HP 25"monitor, seldom get lagging/buffering

And you left out the most important bit,,,,,, the price.
Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.
