Save the Children NGO Staff Shot in Phnom Penh

Post by General Mackevili »

Looks like a staff member for the Save the Children NGO in Phnom Penh, Cambodia was shot at the housing accommodation and sent to the Calmette Hospital.

They shot into the house, so maybe they weren't aiming for this particular individual. And it seems the gunman is unknown.

Are NGO's at war or something?

Suspected "Love Triangle" involved. Sounds like the victim's girlfriend already has a fiance...

[Jedi arm wave] I'm not the sort of Christian they're looking for...

There ARE Christian NGOs in Cambodia that I'd be proud to work for though. Typically, these ones are out there changing lives, not building PR empires and buying Lexus fleets with sponsorship dollars.

in contrary to stroppychops i fulfill all criteria for a proper christian (baptised and everything else possible)

but what about those "love triangle" cases in asia stands out a bit, imo, when comparing them to western cases is, that
- the male competitor is eliminated
while in the west, the women mostly gets killed.

there are exceptions, on both sides, but these are then that - exceptions...

perhaps in asia they think, the women will come back to them, when they have murdered the lover?

I'll be honest. I have been baptized 3 times in my life. Twice in cold weather and water, the other one was in heated pool. All good though. But as I grew up I distant myself from religion. As a kid, I was forced to believe nothing else but Jesus and they call Buddism followers foolish people who pray to a piece of rock. Granted, they are good people. But if they dont respect other people ways of belief, how are one suppose to respect what they follow.

And nothing against Stroppy. Just talking in general. I dont think Cambodia, Thailand, Myanmar or even Vietnam asked religious people to save their miserable life. Most, if not all came here on their own will. What pissed me off is these religious people use free food and education to lure the locals; of course they will bite. But this isn't business. Their mission in a foreign country to save souls and go to heaven so all of them said. Take one my students for example, every word coming out of his mouth God this God that ever since he is converted....not only he loses friends, but make his family family suffered miserably. ..I dont think even a psychiatrist can treat his symptom. He is lost, but I hope not for good.

The Crusaders are pretty cool. My most fond moment when attending Church on sundays were when the pastor placed the brownie color coin size candy, buttered bread and a sip of wine,
