I haven't yet, but given the way Samudera is going - what the OP said, and often out of what you want - I keep meaning to give it a go.

yup used them since they started a couple of years ago, nearly always have cheaper prices than in the supermarkets

Well, that (new casino) should improve the traffic congestion in that part of town. Its already crazy around Psar Leu.
Let's hope they build a carpark.

Makro is coming to Sihanoukville too. But we have to wait few years still. I believe the next Makro is going to be built in Siem Reap. After that perhaps it's time for SHK. Also Aeon has plan to open their supermarket in Sihanoukville within few years. They just opened their 4th Maxvalu store in in PP. 2018 they plan to open another 6-10 stores around PP and perhaps to SR too.

Agreed in total. However I shop from the comfort of my EZ chair, choose delivery time, any problems have been resolved on the spot.
That has value to me. I will forego ''great prices '' for convinces. No danger of being run over by Range Rover, no sweating in helmet, no aggravation and you know what you are paying.
So so many times I have gotten to the chk. out & Sukadera says $7.00 for a $3.00 product. I couldn't give a fuk less she be VN, Khmer or Martian. I want to know what I'm paying when I pick it.

Wow, man you must have some really low standards if you think Samudera is acceptable. Where is this acceptable for a supermarket? In South Sudan? The place looks like a warehouse and half the products don't have prices. It's a huge pain to shop there. If madame Samudera was such an astute businesswomen, wouldn't she realize she's losing tons of customers because of this? She's not an astute businesswomen, she's a money grubbing unprofessional business person providing terrible service, and the only reason she can get away with it is because Sihanoukville sucks so much and all the other supermarkets have the exact same products.

I guess super ferret you are new to town, they have made their money over the years and for a long time we’re the only real players in town, ask yourself if you have made your money the relatively hard way would you not take an easy option and diversify your business.
When you answer no then you will realise that is why they were / are successful and you are just a nobody.

Sorry 'super ferret' I have to agree with 'Mr Cynical'. Samudera have made their money over the years and for a long time we’re the only real players in town. The only other real alternative is Orange.

I don't come from 'South Sudan' but London so I know what to expect from a decent supermarket. I'm not suggesting Samudera would survive in business in among the high-quality and high-price supermarkets in central London but it is located in Sihanoukville and for a Cambodian supermarket it may be one or two issues but the produce and service in the supermarket is acceptable.

If it wasn't providing a good service, it would have gone bust years ago. As it happens, it had plenty of customers when I visited it this morning. If Samudera was equivalent to a supermarket in 'South Sudan', then customers would voted with their feet and gone shopping somewhere else.
