Romeo & Juliet @ the FCC Mansions

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Romeo & Juliet @ the FCC Mansions

Post by VLayHo-ho-ho »

This is an abridged version of the Shakespeare classic, brought to you by the Phnom Penh Players.

Not really news-y, not really Cambodian culture-y, but I'm sure we can generally chat about this amongst ourselves.

“Basically, how society is, where I come from – especially from friends and family, has placed an obligation on me to get married and have kids, ” the petite American said.
Huh? That's pretty rich for an American to make that complaint to a Cambodian.

I'm not too sure about any of that Mekong Mouse, but I hope it's successful.

I guess the most surprising thing here is that somebody admitted to reading that Khmer Times garbage.

It's the only publication that's printed anything.

Cambodia Daily will print something this week, as will the Phnom Penh Post.

The Advisor has been approached, as has La Reine, but nothing as of yet.

I'll be honest, I love that paper! They often run interesting stories that nobody else has touched.

They launched at about the same time that we launched CEO. (Please, no conspiracy theories, LoL.)

Lol, I have my own theories. It is just a CPP mouthpiece but not quite as explicit as local media because westerners are looking for that. But during the post election crisis, they were running pieces by Helen Jarvis' husband, whose name I forget now, but the two of them are close with HE and have acted as shills before. I haven't read it in awhile, but those two being involved at such an early stage put me off.

I have my tickets in hand, but I suspect it's going to be a very hot evening. I hope they have some big fans in place to cool the audience.

Fans will be provided.

There will be so much excitement going on that heat will be the last thing on your (audience) minds.

You were at AMSND at Gasolina last year were you not?
