Might @sunwukong500 have been part of the group of private investigators looking into Mr Schmalor? Robert was already on the run from Thailand where a couple of months before arriving here in PP, he just opened and then abandoned a new headoffice in Chiang Mai.
What I don't understand at all is why he kept up all his social media profiles when he knew he was wanted by police in multiple countries, stealing 56 million is not something you easily get away with one would think. Did he really believe he was untouchable here in Cambodia?

A little bit of reverb helps with the vocals, and you can sit out on the patio whilst you're doing it... That's clearly someone's apartment. Plus nothing is plugged in.

This guy was obviously some bigshot fraudster/businessman, but he wasn't just a fraudster because he actually started a lot of companies, it seems like he really wanted to make them work. I don't think someone would put this much effort just to create money laundries.
He could be a launderer for someone else though, who's much bigger.
As for the underage boys, we'd need to know their ages, if they're 16-18 and he's gay, that would not be a real pedophile.

That's the 'test' studio set up, according to the fb page it's taken from. The desk and control surface setup alone is worth around $30k minimum. Not something you can hire in pp to chuck in your apartment for Facebook photos.

I would guess its somewhere within the greater Valentino's complex.

Besides the charming acoustic timbre of Cambodian tile, I guess the rest or the apartments sound doesn't matter that much anyway. It's all produced in the box and a vocal booth can be bodged together with a few spare mattresses.

If Schmalohr was throwing buckets of money at everyone involved in these ventures - pop singer gets a bar to run, DJ gets a recording studio, etc etc, I can see how his dubious past could have been easily overlooked. Everyone's got a price.

What I don't understand is that nothing of this has been reported in the main stream media, yet. Not in Cambodia, not in Germany afaik.
I mean, if a German fraudster (and apparently big investor in Phnom Penh businesses) is arrested in Cambodia and deported to Germany, that would be news, right?
But, there's absolutely nothing. Also no-one can confirm the reports of what happened to Schmalohr.
I'm not suggesting it's not true, but I'm quite sure the Phnom Penh Post journalists are scanning this and TOF for news leads, so they must be aware of it. Yet, nothing in the paper.

Strange.

It's Monday afternoon.

Your average PPP journo is waking from a deep, alcoholic, slumber around about now.

By 5pm they will have a full English and a half a bloody Mary down them, but by then it will be happy hour, so, you should check Wendesday's edition for an out-of-date update on this case.

The Khmer times will probably report on it tomorrow though they will probably use a story about a Malaysian stealing the student's union kitty for his own purposes in stead of the actual facts of this matter.

I think UT nailed it. This guy was was playing some very big people with his money and “good intentions” that can all be found with some google searches.

I think they will try and keep this quiet to save face.

Yes, that's maybe true, but it doesn't count for German media.

The man was wanted by Germany. IF he was deported, wouldn't the Germans make a statement like "We have him and he's appearing before court on this and this day"? And that would be in the German media.
