Was he a crypto currency holder or dealer? He seemed to throw money around like confetti.

I think the crypto thing was his cover for the scam. I have been told by several that knew him this is what he told them, he said he sold a lot of bitcoin several months ago when it skyrocket.

According to them they had no idea about the scams he was running and took the crypto story at face value.
