Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. Ride-by thieves in Kampot

Post by Jasper »

Be aware....

Two little scrotes on a moto just tried to rob my bag.

They thought riding up the inside/right of me was a smart move, which luckily made me aware of them approaching a split second before they made a grab.

As a habit, I always have the strap over my head, so they left with nothing.

Special thanks to the Khmer on motos for not taking any notice of me chasing after them shouting, “I’ll rip your heads off, you cunts!”

Stay safe, and ears and eyes open at all times, folks!

Nothing new, but definitely becoming more common in Kampot, luckily they didn’t manage to drag you off your bike.

I was on a bicycle, riding slowly, so I jumped off!

“I’ll rip your heads off, you cunts!”

Better to shout "Jao! Jao!". Then the locals will know what the problem is and hopefully Kampot can nip this in the before it gets too bad.

First thought is you were lucky not to have put the strap over your head, a quick grab would have seen you on the floor, and I guess no helmet. Not sure how fast you can run but the little shits that snatch the bags leave in a hurry I could not catch a couple and I was on a moto
Seems as if the crime is following the exodus from Sihanoukville.
Maybe 2 years and it will be the same so sad

People saw what happened, they just didn’t want to get involved.

As the little scrotes rode across the junction by the bus station and towards the Durian roundabout without looking if it was clear, I was praying for a massive truck to come along and flatten them into the ashphalt.

It didn’t happen.
This is how I know there isn’t a God.

At least you are OK Jasper.
Always "hope" but never "expect".

Yeah, if I’d been doing any sort of speed on a moto, things could have been very different, thanks.

I’m going to be a lot more aware when I’m out and about from now on though.

Might be better to just leave the man-bag at home. :)

What?

And go out in public without my masculinity?
Never!
