Retirees, And The Lack Of Anything Meaningful
Re: Retirees, And The Lack Of Anything Meaningful
Well, try that in a small town
See how far ya make it down the road
Around here, we take care of our own
You cross that line, it won't take long
For you to find out, I recommend you don't

Jesus, mix in a paragraph every once in a while, brick. That's flat-out wrong, by the way. The Pensionado program is still available to US citizens, I just got back from Panama.oldfatbarang wrote: ↑Tue Aug 29, 2023 9:25 pm I think that more and more Americans will be heading out of the U.S. when they retire as inflation makes it harder to retire here.Panama has already stopped allowing American expats to head down there to retire as they were getting more than they wanted.
Considered to be among the best retirement programs in the world, the Panama Pensionado program offers excellent incentives such as:
• Import tax exemption for household goods.
• Import Tax exemption to import a new car every two years (please not that you will need to pay other taxes when importing your car. You will be exempt from the import tax only)
• 25% discounts on utility bills.
• 25% discount on airline tickets and 30% on other transportation.
• 15% discount on loans made in your name.
• 1% reduction on home mortgages for homes used for personal residence.
• 20% discount on doctor's bills 15% on hospital services if no insurance applies.
• 15% off dental and eye exams.
• 10% discount on medicines.
• 20% discount on bills for professional and technical services.
• 50% discount on entrance to movie theaters, cultural and sporting events.
• 50% discount at hotels during Monday to Thursday, 30% on weekends.
Why do people spout nonsense like the above on the internet?

what state?oldfatbarang wrote: ↑Tue Aug 29, 2023 9:25 pm Almost all expats who retire in Asia do it because of the lower cost of living and the availability of women who don't care how old or out of shape they are as long as they pay.You can't blame a guy for wanting to enjoy what is left of his life. However quite a few are living on a small retirement income that only allows them to live on a modest budget.I retired in Asia at the age of 37 but worked when ever I could find a decent paying job.I am now totally retired and live in America.I have a Cambodian wife and we have a beautiful home and really lovely property here but are thinking of heading back to Asia as America is very divided politically and we are a bit worried that sooner or later the country will have a civil war.The cost of living seems to go up and up every year and it is starting to make us think that crime is going to keep getting worse as the cost of living increases. It is unsafe for an attractive woman here in the U.S. My wife has had to deal with several unpleasant incidents here in the U.S. A guy grabbed her and tried to drag her away as she was entering a convenience store while I was putting fuel in my pickup truck.I heard her yell and looked over to where she was and saw a guy run away.Three guys who were sitting a car got out and ran toward her to help her so the guy ran away.i went inito a hardware store and my wife did not want to go in so she said I will wait out here and she waited for me in front of the store,When I came back out I saw her surrounded by a group if Latino migrants, she had a cannister of pepper spray in her hand and was prepared to use it if any of them tried to grab her.She has had a few more incidents like that since she has lived here in the U.S.She is in her 50's now but she exercises regularly and stays fit and is still very attractive so I am careful not to put her in a situation that might put her at risk.It is a shame that this country has become so unsafe.Cambodia is a safer place to live then than America and people are nicer.I think that more and more Americans will be heading out of the U.S. when they retire as inflation makes it harder to retire here.Panama has already stopped allowing American expats to head down there to retire as they were getting more than they wanted.
MY thai/american daughter experiences racial shit sometimes in northern Ca.
America is heading to becoming a failed state but doubt it will ever experience another civil war
In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST

Sorry to hear about that scuffle and the safety issues. Even small towns are experiencing those, too. Interesting about Panama's program. Nice to have a regional alternative to Mexico. Some folks seem to really prefer Costa Rica, but I guess they don't have a visa program as generous (though I haven't actually looked into it).

Re: Retirees, And The Lack Of Anything Meaningful
I am 71 on the pension in tropical Australia, FNQ. The Khmer ex fucks around outrageously. I look after her two girls. I am busy working managing a 42 unit complex for $24,000 a year. I am busy with the kids, a shiftless 16 year old who is a mini mum and lazes around and a terrific 11 year old who excels at school and is a talented athlete.
I am a secretary of a charity which works with young black crims and we interact with top levels of government attempting to solve problems. I am being bankrupted over a defamation action due to my ex’s gambling, drinking and whoring. It is what it is, never boring. I don’t give a fuck anymore. I still drive my sports car and just want to live another six years to get my youngest through high school. I am a prominent local identity and enjoy a bit of fame trying to improve the lives of the homeless and youth.
If I had remained in Cambodia after 2014 I would have drunk myself to death by now. My ex and I both had Hep B in 2012. She is near death at 38, I will outlive her. My legacy is my adopted daughters. They are great kids.

Silence, exile, and cunning.

I survived my ex with only an old car, a small apartment, and my name. She took everything else. But she wanted much more.MarkArmstrong wrote:That made me smile I have a similar situation gold digging wife etcwillyhilly wrote: ↑Fri Sep 01, 2023 4:00 pm I am 71 on the pension in tropical Australia, FNQ. Her family probably still kiss her feet and she’s probably still an esteemed member of the community.
I have a feeling that her Cham magic spells are at the root cause of all my current problems. Took a few years of venous hatred to reach me.

All the money is hers alone, all possessions belong to her, the kid absolutely belongs to her. The world revolves around her, of course. I merely exist to serve.
