Report from a Stricken Land

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Report from a Stricken Land

Post by LTO »

I am in Orlando. LGBT flags line the streets, the cops are thick and sullen bouncers man the bar doors on Orange in numbers as I've not seen before. The violence is on the tip of every 'tongue.

There was a time when I was leaving the States for Cambodia that people would say, "OMG, Cambodia? But...war, death, genocide, Khmer Rouge. Is it safe for foreigners? Why would you go there?" But now, as I was leaving Cambodia for Orlando, some people said, "OMG, Orlando? But...shootings and Muslim terrorists and crocodiles eating children at Disney. Why would you go there?"

The times they area a changing.

That said, the Cuban cigars I brought from Cambodia are going over quite well with the locals.

Why do they need to? Gays can't become pregnant.

I'm a Michigander. I never lived here. My parents retired here. I'm here with the wife and kids for our annual family visit.
