Report from a Stricken Land

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Stick to the local mosque, I get a feeling that's the one place not likely to be attacked.

I'm a Michigander. I never lived here. My parents retired here. I'm here with the wife and kids for our annual family visit.
I bet you wish I'd let you bring me back some motorcycle parts, but I won't.

P.S. I honestly think Michigan is over-represented in the Cambodian expat population.

When all gays are armed, only the non-gays have anything to fear.

To emit some gravitas here, the Orlando massacre had little to to with Islam or gaiety. Any more than Sandy Hook had anything to do with children or the Black church massacre had anything to do with racism or the movie theater massacre had anything to do with movies.

It had everything to do with anyone, including any and every nut and the guy sitting next to you on the bus, almost anywhere in the US being able to go out and buy a weapon of war as if it were a pair of underpants. In this case a weapon of war that fires 8 rounds a second.

Saw that stat in a news article I can't now find. But I see that number is disputed so I withdraw it.

What firing speed should one be comfortable with easily available in the hands of an average Joe?

MORE

The quote below may clarify my thoughts on the matter.

I did not have three thousand pairs of shoes, I had one thousand and sixty.
