It wasn’t exactly beautiful before what with the rubbish, temporary shacks, stinky ponds etc.

I don't think you'd get great money on heaven...then again Chinese heaven looks very different to a western heaven.
No trees or animals in the former.

that whole area was used for agriculture - both grazing cattle/buffalo and planting various crops. Not to mention when heavy rain came locals would fish and swim in it. there hardly used to be any concrete houses round there and consequently no blooming rubbish either.... oh yeah and it held probably a few million gallons of water in the wet season... where that is going who knowsbangkokhooker wrote: ↑Sun Mar 25, 2018 6:25 pm It wasn’t exactly beautiful before what with the rubbish, temporary shacks, stinky ponds etc.

Both the old Aqua building and the next door former Cambodiana Resort got flooded - they have underground areas which were intended as car parks... but have been converted to rooms for casino staff to live in, Sovanphoum on the other side of Pub street was also flooded.... Even Before the rain some of the few older residential building off 333 street at the bottom have flooding issues.jaynewcastle wrote: ↑Sun Mar 25, 2018 1:43 pmI thought the Aqua hotel had closed about a year ago ?
Anyway the majority of the bar owners down the pub street got together on the morning of the flood and cleared it all up. You would not know it happened and I hope it stays dry until the end of April to save them the hassle of cleaning up again...
