Pub Street Sihanoukville Underwater

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. That was quick, they only filled in the natural drainage area that any excess water naturally flowed into, earlier this week

What a surprise that other low-lying areas are now receiving this water instead

Honestly the Cambodians are starting to make Thai planners/engineers look like Einsteins :) lol

What will they do when the water levels rise? They put more backfill in. The owner of the house that was the first one on our street always bitches and moans when it rains, mostly because he's now 1/2 m below the road height

you are pretty ignorant of the economics of the plaza at that time.

when the original lease was signed the road was 2 metres lower than it is now. the road was raised soon afterward and it took over a year before the final road height was known, which was only when they sealed the road.

I’ll give you a clue. It starts with C and ends with O, and it’s not CASIO.

Pub Street looks like the drainage issue been solved in the time left hopefully. A trench out the back has been made leading to a bit of the swamp left.

Its a bandaid fix but should work if no more huge storms arrive .

Please give them your support while we still have a Pub Street.

Lots of people impacted by the closure both Barang and Khmer. Most giving up on Sihanoukville. Would be nice to hear that Sihanoukville offered Barang a 'place at the table'. Its Chinese exclusive l fear.
