Professor Ray Christl

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

A real pity for Ray.

A nice guy. I used to play in the 9 ball competition with him at the Pickled Parrot almost a decade ago.

He was one of the colourful characters around then.

I hope he gets his wish.

Looks like a GoFundMe/KickStarter style crowdsourcing site is trying to raise money for him to come back to Cambodia and see his wife and daughter before he dies:

Help Ray See His Wife and Daughter Before He Dies

Ray's wife and daughter live in Cambodia. Senator Merkley's office is aiding Ray in getting visas for his family so they can visit him in the United States before he dies. Help raise money to pay for the round trip plane tickets.

Seems they've raised $30 of the $3,000 goal, and have 55 days left.

Ray used to be a semi frequent visitor to the Lone Star to watch American Football. I always enjoyed having Ray around. Ray dances to the beat of his own drum.........but I have collected many friends like that along the way. I found his diatribes interesting and enjoyed his demonstrative, gregarious nature.

I hope he will pay us a visit should he return to PP.

Ray is a very spiritual person, and I am sure that will provide some comfort at the end of his journey.
