Some of these so-called women's clinics are dodgy. Earlier this year, a woman had a very unpleasant experience with a gynecologist at Victoria International Hospital, where she was billed $2000 for an operation that she didn't want.

Pregnant Woman Accuses Doctor of Sexual Assault

Also agree with flex that there is a tendency for victims to call the media rather than the police. Facebook will save you. :drooling bouncy:
Gyno exams entail gloves being worn. They were spot on in their assessment.

Gotta be careful out there in the Kingdom of Wonder. A while back, the missus went to a Khmer GI doctor for stomach pain and the guy wanted to do a gynecological exam on her.

Conversely, she eventually found a good GI doctor and set up her friend to see him as well. She was subsequently grilled by the doctor’s wife who also followed her into the room with him. She thought that missus and her friend were having an affair with him.

Yes. Whatever happened, no gloves is icky and not professional.

Not to mention a health hazard. Sharp nails combined with poor hygiene could cause real problems.

I hoped this thread wouldn't get inappropriate, and thanks to Anchor and Rozzie for chiming in.

Only one idiot comment that I noticed, annoying but predictable.

No gloves is highly inappropriate, and unsanitary. The pregnant woman did right to complain, and the laundry list of six sets of this vitamin, and four sets of that vitamin--all in English to throw off the Khmer patient--was ridiculous.

My CPP friends think i am most critical about their governance in the areas of rights and the environment.
But no, it is the two basics - health and education.
I read story like this and get so mad.

What disturbs me most - apart from the assault itself - is that, yet again, in order to get justice, Cambodians feel obliged to seek help from TV and social media.
Given the Cambodian modesty surrounding anything to do with a woman's sexual organs, I feel that it is disturbing that a Cambodian woman would prefer to give details of her sexual assault to a TV reporter rather than go directly to the cops. :o
