I wash my hands before I eat now. That's probably a good thing.

Yes, or they might make a killing by calling in their loans from people who are now out of work and so have no way to keep on paying off loans with exhorbitant interest rates.SternAAlbifrons wrote: ↑Mon Mar 23, 2020 10:40 pm The predatory micro-finance sector might be dealt a body blow

With a few exceptions, there are no safety nets in Cambodia for those who are out of work because of coronavirus shutdowns . And a lot of the population were already overextended with borrowing from banks and MF companies at high interest rates that they could hardly afford.

Friends and healthy parents die because their heart operation is delayed due to corona virus
You die on agurney after falling of your motorbike because there are no ITU beds left
Food rus out because people are too sick to make it or lorry drivers are too sick to deliver it
No fuel as tanker drivers and petrol station attendents get sick
Most consumer businesses go bust because noone is going out to buy
water and electric fail because the people who maintain it are sick
Internt dies as everyone is using it for shopping and social contact
yes all good news.

Re: possible benefits of pandemic
I can't think of a better opportunity than a pandemic to induce some boycotts.
Some companies with awful behaviours deserved to be boycotted, since long. And a boycott is most easily schedulable and startable at the end of a pandemic, when a large proportion of people have a synch moment possibility.
They can be better gathered into a mass-action (by default in this case) and make their voice be heard.
After all, what is 2 or 3 xtra weeks of confinement when you had already 4, or more ?
This could be interesting times to push claims, if mass are coordinated into it.
They need digital social platform to do so. I'm surprised there isn't already platforms specifically dedicated to gather info and ads, about covid-19 communities, by regions or countries.
An architecture to organize little things for little people, the ones who have claims to push upwards.

It's just that we are still hot from the last yellow fever session that went viral. This one is the prolongation of the precedent, so to say.

i try to see positives in every situation
WW2 was terrible, but you are saying not one positive thing came out of it?
and i never said it was all good news, very little about it is good news you should not put words in my mouth
