Pol Pots Name.

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

I never watch much tv, and a few years ago I was with someone when there were ads on tv for a guy who had won Britain's Got Talent called Pol Pot. I was a bit confused and startled but didn't say anything at the time,. Found out later the guys name was actually Paul Potts. I felt such a fool. Then I wondered if many other people made the same mistake. Easily done, if you're not a big tv watcher.

Was he a good singer? How long did it take the judges to figure out that he couldn't possibly win the contest because he wasn't actually a salesman from Bristol but was actually a despotic genocidal dictator from SE Asia? 8-)

Apparently went on to have a big international career singing popular opera classics. Confused the hell out of a lot of people who paid to go along to see a mass murderer singing Nessun Dorma and ended up seeing some rotund little Welshman who had never done more than step on the odd ant.
