Please save the cat!

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. A hammer works quite well. One good blow would do the trick.

Apparently a lot more humane than drowning, however most people don't have the stomach for this kind of thing. Me neither, and yet i could put it in a bag tied to a rock and toss it in the pond. (not saying I would, but could do that easier)

Wear a condom or pull the fuck out.
would you give money to the 4 children if you knew that their father that resides on the other side of the country wouldn t see any of it? Or do you feel that they should live in squalor to punish their runaway mother and all too verile father?
I wouldn't give them 100 riels, regardless of the situation. I didn't force them to have 4 goddamn kids. Why should I feel responsible for someone else's poor life choices?
Even if I give them money, how do I know that I'm not financing someone's Lexus SUV, Honda Dream, or beer drinking habit?
Not my country. Not my people. Not my problem.
Are you as caring to people from your own country? colour? I am not judging you but willing to pay to put down a cat but unwilling to feed 4 children because their father is a fuck seems a little hard hearted to me. Karma, have you heard about it yet ?

When I found a cat with paralysed back legs I took it to a vet who euthanaised it. Cost $10. Money well spent as it would have died a long and painful death if left as it was.

Its bst for the cat and everyone to put It to sleep. Cat would suffer more pain even after surgery.

I hope you're not living in Cambodia, then. Anyone who can see suffering and not at least help a few people when they can is missing that one iota of compassion that makes us better than that crawling cat with a broken back or a rabid dog. If you live there, you can help a few people out forfeiting a beer or entertainment once a week. Good God, what the hell is wrong with people.

one wrong thing is that some people's motive for visiting Cambodia is to take advantage of poor people.
on the other hand, many others come to try and help.

You can chop them on the neck with a sickle or wring their necks, I've killed animals to put them out of their misery. I didn't enjoy it at all. One time I found this rabbit with myxomatosis falling around my back garden, it's head was huge and I was going to shoot it but it seemed easier to just drop a breeze-block on its head. Another time I was in Soho and a car drove over this pigeon, the pigeon was fucked - it had guts spilling out on both sides of the tire-track that was left of its body. It was still alive though so I stamped the poor dove's head into the curb/kerb. It seemed like the kindest thing to do, I could have tried to raise money to stitch it back together but I'm not a fucking idiot like these cat-savers.

Nothing wrong with caring for animals. But part of it is using sensible judgement, which is the point of this thread.

As for my story above, the old lady at the pagoda was annoyed with me because I didn't tell her we euthanised the paralysed cat, only that "it died". I suspect she saw right through me, but there was no hope for it. I've also dispatched a kitten which was in its death throes once (and I felt terrible doing it). No point in prolonging their suffering though. It's an action of mercy.
